Cyclect Group celebrated its 70th anniversary on 8 November 2013 at the Tower Ballroom, Shangri-La Hotel. The event was attended by over 300 guests including Minister of State for Trade and Industry Teo Ser Luck, clients, partners, directors, and long-serving staff.
Managing Director Melvin Tan opened the event with a milestone video and address tracing the group’s development from its 1943 founding as Cycle & Electric — a small technical services business established by Tan Ai Meng during the Japanese occupation — to its position seven decades later as an engineering group active across marine, industrial, energy, and built environment sectors in multiple countries.
The 70th anniversary marked a point at which Cyclect had served clients including ExxonMobil, Shell, Pfizer, MSD International, Marina Bay Sands, Changi Airport, Universal Studios Singapore, and the Singapore government across infrastructure, energy, and facilities mandates. The event acknowledged the continuity of the group’s relationships with clients and employees, some of whom had worked with Cyclect for multiple decades.
