Melvin Tan, Group Managing Director of Cyclect, participated as a panellist at the EuroCham Forum on “Local SMEs and Their Sustainable Transition: How Can European MNCs Support It?” — co-organised by the Global Compact Network Singapore (GCNS), Singapore Business Federation (SBF), and UOB.
The forum examined how European multinational corporations can practically support the sustainability transition of their local SME suppliers and partners in Singapore — covering areas including supply chain ESG requirements, financing access, technology transfer, and capability development.
Tan brought over 26 years of experience in engineering, construction, maintenance, and operations management to the panel, drawing on Cyclect’s experience navigating the transition from traditional contracting into sustainability-oriented services including solar energy, cogeneration, and green data centre development.
His participation reflected Cyclect’s positioning at the intersection of Singapore’s industrial engineering sector and its national sustainability agenda — relevant for European multinationals operating manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or infrastructure assets in Singapore who require local engineering partners with both technical depth and ESG credibility.
