Mecflou Pte Ltd, a Cyclect Group subsidiary, was represented at the Spirit of Enterprise (SOE) Awards 2013, with founder and Managing Director Kenneth Ng receiving the award at the Mandarin Orchard Hotel. Guest of Honour was Mr. Teo Ser Luck, Minister of State for Trade and Industry.
The SOE Award is a national recognition programme that honours local entrepreneurs who have demonstrated persistence and commercial judgment in building their businesses. Ng founded Mecflou in partnership with Cyclect in 2004, following the dissolution of his previous company during the downturn in the capital process industries. He rebuilt by diversifying into process engineering services, gradually expanding the company’s scope and client base.
Ng’s remarks to the audience focused on financial discipline — specifically the importance of monitoring overheads and profit-and-loss performance — as foundational to sustainable entrepreneurship in capital-intensive engineering sectors.
The recognition added to the Cyclect Group’s portfolio of subsidiary achievements and reflected the quality of business leadership operating across the group’s component entities.
