Cyclect Completes Electrical Works for Jurong Island–Pioneer Transmission Cable Tunnel

Cyclect completed 400kV and 230kV cable circuit installation within the 5.2 km Jurong Island–Pioneer Transmission Cable Tunnel, working 80 metres underground to connect Jurong Island's industrial complex to Singapore's national grid.

Cyclect Electrical Engineering completed the electrical infrastructure works for the Jurong Island to Pioneer Transmission Cable Tunnel (JIPTC) — a 5.2 km underground transmission corridor connecting Jurong Island’s industrial complex to the Singapore mainland grid.

The project involved the installation and termination of 400kV and 230kV cable circuits within a tunnel located approximately 80 metres below ground level. Working at this depth required specialised equipment, confined space protocols, and precise coordination to ensure safety and technical accuracy across the high-voltage installation.

The underground cables are protected by outer jacketing providing resistance to mechanical impact and chemical exposure, appropriate for the long-term performance demands of critical transmission infrastructure. JIPTC forms a key component of Singapore’s power distribution architecture, supporting the reliable supply of electricity to and from Jurong Island — home to more than 100 petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and industrial companies.

Cyclect’s successful delivery demonstrated the group’s capability in technically complex, safety-critical underground infrastructure — relevant to clients in energy, utilities, and large-scale industrial infrastructure sectors.
